Bill Hanvey

William J. “Bill” Hanvey is president and CEO of the Auto Care Association, which represents the entire $381 billion independent automotive aftermarket supply chain.

Since becoming president and CEO on Dec. 1, 2015, Hanvey has structured the association under five core pillars, including the advancement of data and technology usage in the auto care industry, and the alignment of his team in order to meet both current and future needs of the Auto Care Association membership. On a daily basis, Hanvey utilizes his prior professional experience in the areas of marketing, sales, product management and pricing to prioritize evaluating the needs of an evolving industry and providing the benefits and legislative representation that members seek.

Most recently, Hanvey served as senior vice president of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), a division of the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), beginning in 2012. At AASA, he managed their headquarters operations while advocating for North American parts manufacturers to the auto care industry, federal and state government agencies, and the business community.

Hanvey has spent his entire 30+ year career in the aftermarket. After earning his bachelor’s degree in mass communications and public relations at St. Bonaventure University, he began his career as a field sales representative with Tenneco Automotive and progressed through increasingly more responsible positions in product management and marketing within the company. He finished his career at Tenneco as the Ride Control Product Director, where he led the product and marketing teams for North America. Hanvey then became the first marketing director for FleetPride®, where he developed and executed a strategic marketing and branding plan integrating 37 separately-owned companies into what is now the nation’s largest independent heavy-duty parts distributor.

Hanvey went on to become vice president, marketing, Dorman Products, Inc., where he led initiatives to rebrand the company, and developed the OE Solutions® brand which provides the independent aftermarket solutions that were previously only available at the OE dealer. Hanvey then became vice president, sales and marketing, Schaeffler Group USA, leading the North American aftermarket team while developing and implementing a new company strategic direction, transitioning its sales and product focus from co-man to direct sales.

Hanvey served as chairman of the Auto Care Association Marketing and Communications Committee and was staff liaison for the Brake Manufacturer’s and Marketing Executive’s councils while at AASA.

Hanvey was awarded the Northwood University Educator of the Year Award in 2014, and serves on The University of The Aftermarket Foundation, The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) and The Coalition for Automotive Repair Equality (CARE) boards.

Mr. Mark A. Finestone has been Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Supply Chain, & Marketing at AutoZone, Inc. since October 2015. Mr. Finestone served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Store Development at AutoZone, Inc since 2014. He served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising of AutoZone Inc. from 2008 to 2014. He served as Vice President - Merchandising of AutoZone Inc. from 2002 to 2008.

Prior to joining AutoZone in 2002, Mr. Finestone served for Many Department Stores for 19 years where he served a variety of leadership roles which included Divisional Vice President, Merchandising. Mr. Finestone also serves as Chairman of the Auto Care Association.

Todd Allen

Todd B. Allen is a lawyer who focuses his practice in the areas of litigation, real estate, condominium and homeowners’ association representation.

Todd represented a significant number of homeowners facing foreclosure in Collier and Lee Counties. As a result of his work, Todd has been featured in the national media with articles in Fortune Magazine, USA Today, Housing Wire, Time Magazine, and the Huffington Post, to name a few. Todd has also appeared on MSNBC and Fox News to discuss his work and the foreclosure crisis. Todd was featured in a John Oliver segment on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart called “The Forecloser“.

Todd graduated from Brigham Young University in 2006 with a degree in political science and as a member of Pi Sigma Alpha. After obtaining his law degree, Todd became a member of the Florida Bar, the Collier County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association and was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Jim Merle has been with Babcox Media since 1993 and currently serves as group publisher of Brake & Front End, ImportCar, Underhood Service, Shop Owner, Servicio Automotriz and Tomorrow’s Tech. Jim is involved in the industry on a number of different levels, including currently serving as a board member of the Automotive Communications Council, and formerly serving as a member of Auto Care Association’s Marketing & Advertising Committee from 2014-2018.

To acknowledge his efforts on the industry educational front, Jim was recognized by Northwood University in November 2018, as a recipient of the Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award. He also stays up-to-date on industry issues and trends, and actively solicits feedback from readers to help tailor the content of the brands he oversees to better inform and educate the constituents they serve.

Scott Shriber

Scott Shriber is a 40 plus-year veteran of the automotive industry. His 28 years with Ford Motor Co. (Dearborn, Mich.) included senior management work in the areas of customer service, field technical training, dealer profitability, fixed operations and warranty, as well as national marketing and sales experience. He has a deep understanding of both direct and indirect parts sales channels, as well as distribution through the aftermarket. During two joint venture start-ups, he gained collision, IT and medium-duty truck experience. Scott joined Babcox in 2008 as publisher of BodyShop Business. In 2010, Scott was also named publisher of Counterman magazine and the aftermarketNews properties. He is currently the Publisher of AMN, EngineBuilder, Counterman, the AAPEX show properties and Professional Carwashing and Detailing. He remains a devoted car enthusiast and continual student of the automotive industry. A 1979 graduate of Hillsdale College, Scott resides in Akron, Ohio.

Jeff Koviak

Vice President & General Manager, North American Aftermarket
Tenneco, Inc.
Jeff Koviak, vice president and general manager, North America aftermarket, is responsible for the company's aftermarket business in North America. He is based in Monroe, Michigan, and has full responsibility for all aspects of the business including manufacturing, distribution, engineering, sales/marketing, finance, strategic planning and business development.

Prior to assuming his current role in October 2014, Koviak served five years as director of sales, North America.

Koviak originally joined Tenneco in 1992 as a territory manager for the Walker emissions control business. He subsequently owned and operated two successful emissions control service facilities in the mid-1990s before returning to Tenneco in 1997 as district sales manager. In 1998, he was named strategic account manager, overseeing the company’s relationship with Advance Auto Parts, and became director of national sales, Central Division, in 2002. He was appointed director of sales, North America, in 2009.

Koviak holds both an Associate’s degree in automotive aftermarket management and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University.

Nick is a sought-after keynote speaker at conferences and corporate events throughout the world. He teaches at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business and sits on the Professional Advisory Board for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is also a mentor at the Iowa Startup Accelerator.

Nick lives with his wife and five kids in Coralville, Iowa.
